Mauris Noronha known as Mauris bhai allegedly killed Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Abhishek Ghosalkar, on February 9, 2024 before learning to shoot on YouTube. Noronha's visa was revoked after Ghosalkar informed the US Embassy of the alleged rape.

Mauris Noronha arrested allegedly raping
Noronha was arrested in June 2022 for allegedly raping a 48-year-old woman, the wife of his acquaintance with whom he had some financial transactions.
After the woman claimed he called her at his house to pay their dues and forced himself on her, the MHB Colony police booked him under sections 376, 420, 354 (B and C), and 506 for rape, outraging modesty, cheating, and threatening under the Indian Penal Code.
He was arrested at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport after returning from the US and held for 84 days before being freed on bail.
The accused maintained his innocence throughout the investigation and claimed that he had a consensual relationship with the woman. The court proceedings dragged on for months as both parties presented their evidence and witnesses.

The court acquitted him of all charges due to lack of substantial evidence and inconsistencies in the woman's testimony. The accused's reputation suffered irreparable damage, and he vowed to rebuild his life and clear his name.

Noronha’s wife Sareena said,
'Mauris was not perfect, but he was not the villain social media users have made him out to be. I will regret what happened for the rest of my life. As much as I am saddened about my daughter losing her father, I feel sad for [Shiv Sena (UBT) leader]'
She added,
"I would like to emphasise that one should not trouble anyone so much that the consequences of one’s actions become painful. His rivals bear responsibility for whatever has transpired. The criminal cases against Mauris were politically motivated. The rape case against him was orchestrated by his enemies as part of a conspiracy. Apart from this, Mauris did not have any criminal record."
