Bihar-based Indian politician Sudhanshu Shekhar has held two terms as a member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly. In a by-election held for the Madhubani district of Bihar's Harlakhi Assembly constituency, Shekhar was initially elected to the Bihar Legislative Assembly in 2016.
He beat Indian National Congressman Muhammad Shabbir in this by-election, which was held in the wake of the death of Basant Kushwaha, the sitting member from the Harlakhi constituency.
