She is happily dating Kanav sooner
Shortly thereafter, Patel's parents expressed their desire to make amends with their daughter and said that "everyone is happy with the break-up."
Their relationship remained strained. During the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week held on 12 March 2008, Ameesha Patel officially confirmed her relationship with Kanav Puri, 50, a London-based businessman. In an interview with Mid-Day in June 2008, she revealed their relationship,
"I kept it a secret from Kanav for a while because I didn't want to ruin it. He's really special. I never wanted to discuss it. Couldn't prepare myself for it. With other people because it was so valuable. It's been over six months now, I feel a sense of security, and I know that our connection is so powerful that nothing or anyone can interfere with it."
She denied the media's earlier claims that she had wed Kanav Puri. Their relationship was very short termed. In an interview with Mumbai Mirror in September 2010, Patel confirmed that she broke up with Kanav Puri to focus on her professional interests. She informed her followers via her 'X' (formerly known as Twitter).
