Eligibility Criteria


To successfully apply for the CTET 2024 July Exam, candidates need to familiarize themselves with the eligibility criteria outlined in the CTET July Notification 2024. This includes having the necessary educational qualifications as specified in the notification.

Educational Qualification


To become eligible to teach classes I-V (Paper I) in the exam:

  • Candidates must have passed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and completed or be in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
  • Or candidates with at least 50% in Senior Secondary and the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) or a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).

To become eligible to teach classes VI-VIII (Paper II) in the exam:

  • Graduates who have completed or are in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) are eligible.
  • Or, Graduates with at least 50% marks and in the first year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) or candidates with 50% in Senior Secondary and the final year of a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) or 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.

Application Fee


To apply for the CTET July Paper 1 or Paper 2, candidates must pay an application fee. The fee is different for single and double papers. General/OBC(NCL) candidates need to pay Rs. 1000/- for a single paper and Rs. 1200/- for both papers. SC/ST/Diff. Abled Person need to pay Rs. 500/- for a single paper and Rs. 600/- for both papers. Only applications with the application fee will be accepted as per the CTET Notification 2024.

Cut off Marks


To pass the CTET exam, candidates in the general category need to score 60% or above, which is 90 out of 150 marks. However, for SC/ST/OBC and other reserved categories, the passing percentage is lower at 55%, equivalent to 82.5 out of 150 marks, due to relaxation as per government regulations.

Exam Pattern


For Paper I, candidates will be teaching classes I to V and will cover subjects like Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies. The objective is to assess the candidate's ability to teach younger children in primary classes.

For Paper II, candidates will be teaching classes VI to VIII and will cover subjects like Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I, Language II. They must choose between Mathematics and Science or Social Studies/Social Science based on their interest. The objective is to assess the teaching capabilities of candidates for higher elementary classes.

Certificate Validity


Once you pass the CTET exam, your certificate is valid for a lifetime. However, you will need to renew your certificate every 7 years starting from the date when the results were declared. This ensures that teachers who have successfully completed the exam stay updated with new teaching methods and standards.
