Naman Dhir had contributed to Punjab's victory in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in 2023 and shown his talent by scoring centuries against Saurashtra and Gujarat in the Ranji Trophy. After Ishan Kishan being dismissed for a duck early on, Dhir hit three boundaries and a six off Azmatullah Omarzai's bowling. Unfortunately, his innings was cut short by Omarzai in the next over when he was given out lbw after a DRS review. He made 20 runs in 10 balls with the strike rate of 200.
