Namita Thapar is an Indian entrepreneur serves as the Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals Ltd. She is known for the role as an investor on the television business reality show Shark Tank India. She was born on March 21, 1977 in Pune, Maharashtra. She completed her primary and secondary education at a school in Pune.

After finishing her schooling, Namita decided to continue her education by studying B. Com at Savitribai Phule Pune University in Pune. She also started working towards becoming a Chartered Accountant through ICAI. Later on, she furthered her education by obtaining an MBA from Fuqua School of Business at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.

She is from business family

Namita comes from a family with a strong business background, as her father is the founder of Emcure Pharmaceuticals and her younger brother holds a key position in the company. Her mother and brother are also actively involved in the business. She belongs to a Gujarati family. She is 47 years old.

Namita Thapar is married to Vikas Thapar, who is a businessman. They have two sons named Vir Thapar and Jai Thapar, named after Namita's favorite film Sholay. She is 5 feet 4 inches tall.

She started her career from GlaxoSmithKline

After finishing her MBA, Namita worked at GlaxoSmithKline in London and then moved to Guidant Corporation in the USA. In her role as a business finance lead in the financial planning department, she contributed to the company for approximately 6 years.

Then, Namita started working at Emcure Pharmaceuticals as the Chief Financial Officer. Over time, she took on more responsibilities and began overseeing the company's operations in India. Currently, in 2022, she holds the position of Executive Director at Emcure Pharmaceuticals.

Namita founded an education company called 'Incredible Ventures Ltd.' in 2017 which focuses on promoting youth entrepreneurship by teaching entrepreneurial skills to children between the ages of 11-18. She serves as a Board Member of the Regional Advisory Board of Fuqua School of Business and is an active member of the Young Presidents Organization. She is a trustee on the TiE Mumbai Board of Trustees.

Namita started YouTube channel named 'Unconditional Yourself with Namita' in 2020 focusing on women's health. In December 2021, Namita was a jury member on Shark Tank India, the Indian version of the popular American business reality show 'Shark Tank.' Her estimated net worth is around 600 crores.

Namita has also delivered speeches as public speaker at renowned platforms such as Harvard Business School, Indian Institute of Management (IIM- Ahmedabad), ET women’s conference, and FICCI.
