Sherry Batliwala, daughter of Indian Field Marshall, Sam Manekshaw

Sherry D Batliwala was born in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu in 1940 is a Capricorn. She attended Lambton College in Canada for her graduate studies and later worked as a corporate employee before retiring. Known for being the daughter of Indian Field Marshall Sam Manekshaw, she followed her father's lifestyle and behavior closely and shared through interview.

Peronsal Life and her family

Sherry Batliwala belongs to a Parsi family. She is married to Dinky Batliwala and they reside in Chennai. Dinky was employed with Swiss Air. They have a daughter named Brandy who lived in the United States for 25 years before returning to India in 2011.

Sherry's father, Sam Manekshaw, was an Indian Field Marshal and her mother, Silloo Manekshaw, was a social worker. Sherry also has a sister named Maja Daruwala, who is a well-known advocate and human rights activist in India. The pair has two sons: Mumbai-based theater artist Jehan Sam and US businessman Raoul Sam.

Sherry Batliwala started working in the travel industry with Air India and then moved on to Mercury Travels as a Regional Manager in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. She dedicated a significant amount of time to her career before eventually retiring. Sherry's passion lies in hospitality, and she has achieved recognition as an IIHM gold medalist in Front Office Operations, Corporate Communications, and Overall Academics.

Manekshaw and Silloo had been married for 60 years before celebrating their wedding anniversary in 1999. Sadly, Silloo passed away two years later at the age of 90 due to lung cancer. After losing Silloo, Manekshaw experienced intense loneliness. Sam Manekshaw passed away in 2008 and Silloo Manekshaw in 2001.
