BSSC CGL Vacancy 2024


The purpose of the BSSC CGL Exam is to recruit individuals for a range of roles such as LDC, Stenographer, Junior Account Clerk, and Driver. These positions are needed in various sectors like Railway and Industrial Establishments, Subordinate Offices, Ministries Department, and the Government of India. BSSC has announced 1030 Level 9 vacancies, 3920 Level 7 vacancies, 312 vacant Level 11 positions, 102 Level 12 positions, and 16 Level 13 positions.

BSSC CGL Eligibility Criteria


Educational Qualification


To be eligible for the BSSC CGL 2024 exam, candidates must have completed their graduation from a recognized university with the relevant discipline required for the applied post. The age limit for applicants is between 21 to 37 years as of May 1, 2024, with age relaxation for SC/ST candidates up to 42 years and OBC candidates up to 40 years.

Application Fees


To apply for the BSSC CGL Notification 2024, candidates from scheduled castes and scheduled tribes are required to pay an application fee of Rs. 135, while candidates from general or other backward categories must pay Rs. 540.

Selection Process


Candidates competing for BSSC CGL 2024 posts will undergo a rigorous two-stage selection process consisting of preliminary and mains examinations.

The preliminary examination which is qualifying in nature and carries 600 marks, will be the first stage of selection. Those who pass this stage will then move on to the mains examination. Prelims Exam Pattern


The preliminary examination for the BSSC CGL Vacancy 2024 will be worth a total of 600 marks and is meant to qualify candidates for further stages. The exam will consist of 150 objective-type questions from General Science & Maths, General Studies, and Logical Reasoning/Mental Ability/Comprehension subjects. Candidates will have 2 hours and 15 minutes to complete the exam, with each correct answer earning them 4 marks.

Mains Exam Pattern


In the BSSC CGL mains exam, there will be two papers - Paper I and Paper 2. Each paper will last for 2 hours and 15 minutes. Both papers will have a marking scheme where correct answers are awarded 4 marks each. Paper 1 is worth a total of 400 marks, while Paper 2 is worth 600 marks. To pass Paper 1, candidates must achieve a minimum qualifying mark of 30%.
