The Government of India has just announced in a press release that the Post Office Recruitment 2024 will be officially launched on July 15, 2024. This recruitment program is set to fill over 30,000 vacancies for various positions such as Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS), Branch Postmaster (BPM), and Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM)/Dak Sevak across 23 circles for the fiscal year 2024-25.

Eligibility Criteria
It is necessary to have passed the Secondary School Examination in 10th standard with Mathematics and English from a recognized Board of School Education by the Government of India/State Governments/ Union Territories in India. To be considered eligible for this position, you must have knowledge of using a computer, be able to ride a bicycle, and have a reliable source of income.
Age Limit
The person age between 18 to 40 years can apply. In the India Post GDS Recruitment 2024, there is a provision for 5 years of age relaxation for SC/ST categories. The Upper age relaxation for all reserved categories is as follows: Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) - 5 years, Other Backward Classes (OBC) - 3 years, Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) - No Relaxation, Persons with Disabilities (PwD) - 10 years, Persons with Disabilities (PwD) + OBC - 13 years, and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) + SC/ST - 15 years.
Application Fee
Applicants must pay a fee of Rs 100. However, female candidates, SC/ST candidates, PWD candidates, and Transwoman candidates are exempt from paying this application fee.
Selection Process
Individuals applying for GDS posts will be evaluated based on their performance in the Secondary School Examination of the 10th standard.
A system-generated merit list will be created for all 23 circles, with marks obtained or grades converted to marks being aggregated into a percentage accurate to 4 decimals. Passing all subjects is required as per approved board norms.
The merit list will be available on the official website for candidates to check their status https://indiapostgdsonline.gov.in/.
For students who have both marks and grades on their 10th standard mark sheet, only the total marks will be considered for selection. This includes marks from all compulsory and elective subjects, excluding any extra subjects. This process aims to prioritize applicants with higher overall marks.
However, for students with grades instead of marks, the marks for each subject will be calculated using a multiplying factor of 9.5. This calculation applies to both compulsory and elective subjects, but not extra subjects.
