Punjab Police has released an announcement regarding 1746 vacancies for District Police Cadre and Armed Police Cadre on their official website www.punjabpolice.gov.in. This notification is open to both male and female candidates who are interested in applying for these positions. Eligibility Criteria

Before you apply for the Punjab Police Constable Vacancy 2024, it is important to confirm that you meet all the eligibility criteria set by the recruitment body. There are a total of 1746 Constable vacancies available this year, with 970 vacancies in the District Police Cadre and 776 vacancies in the Armed Police Cadre. For women candidates, there are 317 reserved vacancies in the District Police Cadre and 253 reserved vacancies in the Armed Police Cadre.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have completed their class 12th from a recognized university or education board. For ex-servicemen, the minimum educational requirement is matriculation. It is also necessary for candidates to have passed the Matriculation test with Punjabi as one of the required or elective topics, or an equivalent exam approved by the Punjab government.

Age Limit

Candidates must be at least 18 years old and no older than 28 years.

Physical Standard

Female candidates applying for Punjab Police Constable posts must have a minimum height of 5 feet 2 inches. Male candidates must have a minimum height of 5 feet 7 inches. These physical standards are important for applicants to meet in order to be eligible for the position.

Selection Process


The selection process for Punjab Police Constable candidates includes three main stages. First, there is a computer-based test to assess their knowledge and skills. Then, there is a physical screening test and physical measurement test to evaluate their physical fitness. Finally, there is a document scrutiny stage to verify their qualifications and background.

The computer-based test for this selection process consists of two papers: Paper I worth 100 marks and Paper II worth 50 marks. Only Paper II is Qualifying in nature.

After the test, Stage II involves a Physical Screening Test (PST) and Physical Measurement Test (PMT) which are both qualifying stages. Only candidates who score the minimum qualifying marks in the CBT will be allowed to participate in this stage, where their physical fitness and measurements are assessed.

Stage III is the Document Scrutiny stage where important documents of the candidates are verified as part of the final selection process.

Exam Pattern


The Punjab Police Constable 2024 Exam will have two papers, Paper-I and Paper-II, with Paper-II being qualifying. The exam will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions, each worth 1 mark, and will last for a total of 3 hours. There will be no penalty for wrong answers or unanswered questions.

The Exam consists of two papers.

  • Paper 1 includes subjects like Quantitative Aptitude, Mental Ability, English Language, Punjabi Language, General Awareness, and Digital Literacy. There are a total of 100 questions worth 100 marks to be completed in 2 hours.
  • Paper 2 is a Mandatory Qualifying Paper of Punjabi Language with 50 questions worth 50 marks to be completed in 1 hour. The grand total for the exam is 150 questions worth 150 marks to be completed in 3 hours.

Application Fee

To apply for the Punjab Police Constable Recruitment 2024, candidates must pay the application fee and examination fee. The total fee varies depending on the category of the applicant. General category candidates are required to pay Rs. 1150, while Ex-Servicemen of Punjab and their linear descendants only need to pay Rs. 500. SC/ST/BC candidates from all states and OBC candidates from Punjab must pay Rs. 650, and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) also have to pay Rs. 650.

Salary


The salary for the position of Constable in the Punjab Police has to be Rs. 19,900 per month for three years.
